Message to Stakeholders from President/CEO Philip Haley
After living 25 years in the cold bitter climate of Chicago my wife and I decided to return to our hometown. I have discovered that much has changed in Danville and Pittsylvania County. New industries have arrived and groups are engaged in revitalizing the region. Danville and Pittsylvania County are now connected as one community. Some things will never change, like the warmth and caring of a small close-knit community. The community has been very gracious to me, and my family since our return and I am very excited to be part of the good work of United Way of Danville Pittsylvania County.
As I settle into my new position with United Way, I continue to meet many great people working hard to have a positive impact on community issues involving Health, Education and Income. These are the staff members and volunteers of our partner agencies. Your financial support of the United Way provides funding for their continued work to improve lives.
I arrived in the middle of our campaign drive and am pleased to report we have passed the 70% mark in our efforts to reach $700,000. I would like to thank the organizations that conduct work place campaign drives and in many cases match the pledges of their employees. I would also like to thank the individuals who generously donate their time and money in support of United Way and our partner agencies. It means so much to me that the Board of Directors of United Way have placed their confidence in me to lead this great organization forward, and I take that responsibility seriously. Our goal is to help our partner agencies have a lasting impact on the lives of individuals in the Danville-Pittsylvania County community.
Please remember the hard work of our partner agencies and consider a gift toward our campaign drive. Let’s work together to surpass our $700,000 goal.
