2011 Campaign Kicks Off with $250,000!
United
Way of Danville-Pittsylvania County launched the 2011-12 campaign Friday,
September 2, 2011 at the Community Market in conjunction with the
Danville-Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours and
Harvest Jubilee final First Friday concert of the season.
The
event was made possible through generous contribution from area
businesses. Mary’s Diner provided BBQ
dinners. American National donated their
cart full of ice cream. Pepsi Co.
donated a variety of drinks. Harvest
Jubilee along with the City of Danville Parks, Recreation & Tourism hosted
the event at the Community Market.
Over
150 people attended.

& Co. Realtors, the 2011-12 Campaign Chair, recognized the following businesses
that have taken a leadership role in reaching this year’s annual fund raising
campaign: Carter Bank & Trust, Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of
Commerce, Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services, Danville Regional Medical
Center, Danville Register & Bee, Davenport Communications, Davenport
Energy, First Piedmont Corporation, First Piedmont Transportation, Gateway
Health Alliance, Institute for Advanced Learning and Research, Nestle,

Additional
support for this year’s campaign has come from Danville Braves through their
