United Way of Danville Pittsylvania County provides funding for agency programs that qualify under funding guidelines.
Note: Any funding received from United Way of Danville Pittsylvania County is required to only be used to serve residents of Danville and Pittsylvania County, Virginia.
--Agency and program must provide services for residents in the Danville Pittsylvania County service area.
--Agency must have held 501(c)3 status for five (5) years or more.
--Agency must employ at least one (1) full-time employee.
--Program must fall into the categories of health, education or income and the need be clearly demonstrated in one of the three following local reports:
The Regional Report Card
The Health Equity Report
The Virginia ALICE Report
--Agency has NOT received a two (2) million or more grant in the last five (5) years from a local funding agency.
United Way of Danville Pittsylvania County will place a link on their website on November 1, 2017 for agencies that qualify under the Funding Guidelines to complete a short, online one-page application that provides preliminary information about the agency and the program. A United Way volunteer committee will evaluate the applications and invitations to apply will be emailed to the organizations that are chosen.
If an invitation is received by an organization then the full funding application will be provided to the chosen agencies on December 1, 2017 with a proposal due date of January 31, 2018.
The full funding applications of the chosen organizations will be reviewed by a United Way volunteer committee. Final decisions for funding amounts will be issued in a letter to the agency in March of 2018 with the first 2018-19 funding cycle payment checks being mailed on April 1, 2018.
