
United Way of Danville-Pittsylvania County has appointed Tom
Gay, formerly with Moses, Hayes, and Willeford, to serve as Interim President
while the organization searches for a new President and CEO. Current United Way President Patrick Jinks
begins a new assignment as President/CEO of United Way in Lancaster, PA on
January 3, at which time Gay will assume his duties as Interim President.
Gay has a strong history with United Way,
serving as Campaign Chair in 2008, and serving on numerous boards of United Way
partner organizations. He also served as Interim Director for Goodwill
Industries in Danville during their most recent CEO search.
“Tom is a community leader who gives of himself and his time,”
said United Way Board Chair Jeff Liverman.
“He has experience at many other community organizations like the Life
Saving Crew and Goodwill Industries, and United Way’s campaign and initiatives
will not miss a beat under Tom’s leadership.”
United Way of Danville-Pittsylvania County is a local,
nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve lives by mobilizing the
caring power of community to create lasting changes in the conditions that
affect us most, namely the areas of education, income, health, and safety net
services.
