The Dan River Center for Community Change was created by Danville Regional Foundation to encourage a culture of highly engaged citizens by expanding interest and opportunities for civic engagement and leadership development.
With its primary target audience being the younger generations, the DR Center seeks to capitalize on the energetic, creative, and enthusiastic spirit of young people to bring about positive change in the region. The overarching goal is to move citizens from a place of passivity to that point where they feel passionately enough about a certain issue to take action.
To achieve this move towards activism, the DR Center will concentrate its focus on programs that promote service and leadership development. The DR Center will act as the virtual hub, providing service and leadership development opportunities for young people.
United Way of Danville-Pittsylvania County is a proud partner of the Dan River Center for Community Change. Learn more.
